I have heard it few times. They think that its just the part about the Gentiles being fellow heirs that's new, not large portions of the whole gospel. It's rather amazing when you see what you and I can clearly see, how blind they are to what they're reading. They see one single tiny aspect of it and spend no effort whatsoever to think through what the implications would have to be. The power of paradigm is amazing.

That is, of course, true, but most simply do not see it. I remember very clearly when I experienced the "light-bulb moment" while reading Enyart's The Plot.

In fact, Enyart was responsible for two major light-bulb moments for me. The second was during his bible study of the book of Genesis. It's the one entitled "Genesis: The Fall". In it he proves open theism - proves it. Life changing stuff!

What I mean specifically is how the Catholic church doctrine is all over those who overtly reject the RCC because of the Pope and the system. Yet they hang onto their church establishment and quote the "red letters" that tell you keep the law of Moses. It is baffling a times.

When it comes to Catholic dogma, it's baffling more often than not! It's amazing that it doesn't just collapse based on its own blatant incoherence.

Here is the straight skinny. Most of the "Old Testament" surrounds Israel and her fall. The prophets say how they will be restored. In the "New Testament" books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, it is still about Israel. Just read the content. After they are set aside in Acts of the Apostles, gentiles are raised up and saved by grace to drive Israel to jealousy. Not that you don't know, this is for the other readers. And many who reject the Pope and say they are Christian, hold onto the same false beliefs about a new church being started. Or whatever you want to call it.
