  • Come to think about it, Delmar was a good friend of mine and when he moderated, he thought being nasty to me was a ban-able offense! It was a bit funny reading his reason, "being mean to Kat"
I remember that. Delmar and some others thought there was a left rep movement. They even thought I played both sides; however, I reped those who posted best and only in sport attacked the 'other side' hardly ever neged Red77 and some like him, as he may well remember.
My feeling was it was always a game side of the forum and when taken too seriously, it became undesirable, and less funny.
I seldom do it either for the same reason. Not many new members I know, so, reps get passed quickly.
there is way around the rep counter, but that is a topic for earlier in the day
I doubt they even happened but he's been a dingbat on here for a long time...since joining no less. If they did then yes, agreed. GM is all twit...
Yeah, it's a shame. Looks like about 3-4 days' worth, since the most recent after it came back on line were June 2 or 3. You had some good ones on gun control.

I think the whole thread-fail on AmyMet is gone too - where a certain someone was outraged she'd tweeted "something about Muslims" (which turned out to be a whole lot of hate), and was outraged that she'd been doxxed by "the left" - (except she'd made a practice herself of doxxing Muslims)....
:chuckle: Yeah... an audience of one and even she wasn't there...

I'm trying really hard to have empathy and walk a mile in your moccasins... but the last time I did that in N. Alabama in May 2012 - the humidity nearly smothered the life out of me and the only thing that saved me from a damp death was abandoning my natural altruism for a good samaritan with air conditioning.
Yep, I noticed. There isn't a whole lot of debate going on anymore ... not to mention the absence of a lot of interesting members.
It certainly seems quiet around here for the last few months. Not a whole lot of participation ... I wonder why?

Anyways, how are you and your family doing?
Thanks, Town Heretic. I appreciate having you around but understand that breaks are needed from time to time. It seems that there are a few that can never take a break. They also seem to most wound up. Coincidence?
Good ideas! Some are not equipped to be the foil of another, even when it is but lighthearted banter. Today, what passes as a roast of another has become quite odious, vs. that of the the masters, e.g., Dean Martin, Don Rickles.

If I am quoted, I quote them. If someone speaks about something wherein I have an opinion, my response is to the reader, not to the person making the post. If I quote someone, I have made offer for them to respond to me directly. They may not, and merely hold me up to ridicule, but my offer stands.

PJ was up to no good. I saw how he toyed with the mods about the facts over at CF when he was banned last month for all his FE nonsense. I think PJ used TOL as a substitute for whatever personal life he has and is vital to his well-being. Some here are in the same boat. I was near weeping at his plaintive pleas at CF to be reinstated. This was during his extended ban here, so PJ was being shut out of any public venues and was quite desperate.
No, I've been without a laptop as mine broke...Got another one and borrowing this one until I get mine set up. I'll check out the thread.

GMTA ... I have had them ALL on ignore for awhile now. There's only of them that I miss ... but that person allowed the influence of others to define her/him ...
I'm glad you made that decision. Speaking as someone who was drawn into the vortex for years so am not immune to it myself, I think it's the best way to online equanimity and a certain sense of peace. I say online for a reason, because online life lives parallel to real life - until they hit an intersect - and where they intersect can become a little blurry and you end up carrying your mood over from one place to the other.

You have a good heart, TH. You're more forgiving than I am, I'm somewhat lacking in that capacity, depending on who and about what.

But engaging with some people is soul-killing by a thousand little-minded posts.
Sounds great Town Man (I had a boss named Greg Townsend (Town Man) - I was trying to invite you to a newer better (I think) forum and I'm not leaving here as I usually keep paying to be here. Anyway, I kept getting banned and joined a few other forums. At Theology Forums I am Admin now and the boss I suppose. The owner is Joe Martin (Youtube "Tattooed Theist") in his 5th year seminary, 23 yrs old, spent 5 years in prison already (starting real young) and has family etc, very busy. I will give you many more details on request and I know you don't have time to post much really but sign up free anyway. I don't get paid but have the time. Lots of TOLers are there. Thank you for reaching out to me and we disagreed mostly when I was into politics and such but I'm not concerned with that anymore. I always still considered you a friend. Thank you.

She has been on ignore since the *deservedness* fthread. Though on the positive side, as nasty as that was, it allowed me to view some for who they truly are.
I currently have 42 members on ignore, though a few no longer post here. Admittedly, it does sound like a lot, however, it became necessary after the "On Deservedness" thread. When you realize there are no boundaries, it's easier to ban it from your sight rather than speak out against the immorality of it.
