  • You're welcome. All that 'criminalizing' homosexuality is ridiculous. Thought to chime in for a bit, but only for a bit. The circus gets old after awhile :)
Let's stick with what Scripture teaches. I provided a link to a document that treats the topic quite well on that vital point. Corporate worship, where Word and Sacrament are provided, is assembling per Scripture. Participating on discussion sites, having coffee with some believers in a home, etc., is not. Do you think the Scripture's teachings about qualifications of elders in the church, the church discipline of its members, the believer's responsibility to share their gifts in the growth of the organic church body, and so on are just discussions of optional things?

You are a smart fellow and I know you know you are not doing what you should be doing as relates to joining a church and being a productive member therein. Lone Ranger believers are not found in Scripture.

Such proper assembly will teach you and help you grow in your walk of faith. The most urgent issue of the church is your absence from it. Focus on that, be obedient to Scripture.
It is sadly true that not all believers attend church, contrary to Scripture.

It is quite simply disobedience to avoid assembly with the visible vestige of our Lord's church for which He died. Your avoidance of covenanting with such a vestige and placing yourself under its care and discipline while having access to the ordinary means of grace (Word and Sacrament) is a key issue with your current situation.
Is this Episcopal pastor the pastor of your own church--that is--a church where you have joined as a participating member? And how is this man qualified to suggest a change in the dosages of your antidepressant medications? Have you discussed such a dosage change with your doctor?
I just read your post about your wife and son. I'm so sorry. You and your son will be continually in my prayers.
I think her basically admitting she has nothing but gossip, and made a threat of lack of discretion based on nothing, should tell on herself well enough.
    hi geefer!

looks like you've made the measure of acw - good - lotsa people drive themselves crazy butting heads with him
Not having a Pastor is the root issue. We are commanded to not forsake the assembling with the saints for corporate worship and to covenant ourselves with the local vestige of the Bride of Christ for instruction, fellowship, worship, access to the ordinary means of grace, and discipline. Do so and your walk of faith will grow in obedience to God and for His glory.
You need to broaden your focus.

What is your walk of faith looking like, e.g.,

-daily Scripture study, rejoicing in hope,
    -being patient in tribulation,
-continuing steadfastly in prayer (Romans 12:12), -
fellowship with other believers, keeping stewardship of the secular and spiritual gifts God has given you, and
-with regular assembly with others to worship God, receive instruction, access the ordinary means of grace, and be subject to discipline (see also here, and Genesis 15:1-6; Prov. 3:5-8; Romans 5:1-11; Eph. 6, 1 Cor. 9:24-27; Hebrews 10:19-25, 35-39; Hebrews 11:1,6)?

Have you spoken with your Pastor about this single minded attention of yours on all matters homosexual? What was his counsel?
