The earth is flat and we never went to the moon

If the Earth is flat, surrounded by Antarctica (a wall), then shouldn't we be able to see Antarctica all around us with telescopes?

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon

Ok... I have lots of genuine questions about the ice wall.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon

I put over 200,000 miles on my first car, and I never saw Antarctica either. All that means is I didn't drive to Antarctica. So what?

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon

Looking at that line on the graph, you can't visibly detect any slope either. Anyway, Dave, I admit a certain amount of intrigue in the flat Earth claim. Would you be willing to explain more about the ice wall you mentioned earlier? Those questions I posted were not rhetorical.

Also, what's on the underside of the flat Earth? Another set of continents and oceans?

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon

How tall is the ice wall? Why has no one ever seen the ice wall? Does the ice wall surround the entire Earth? What's on the other side of the ice wall? What countries or oceans border the ice wall?

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon

The problem could also be a failure to grasp just how minuscule 54 feet is, when compared to 9 miles.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon

Yes, exactly that. Over the course of 9 miles, you can easily drop 54 feet without noticing it. Try graphing that as line. 9 miles = 9 x 5280 = 47520 feet. A horizontal distance of 47520 feet, with a drop of only 54 feet gives us a slope of about .00114. Here's an equation for that line: Y =...

    Is rape "about" sex?

What I've learned from the Hefner/Trump Homosexual thread is that a person's sexual orientation is innate and immutable. If a man (let's say a prison inmate) appears to have changed his sexual orientation, he has only deceived you. He has not changed from heterosexual to homosexual because (1)...

    Pro-Gays, is incest immoral?

A question for people that do not believe homosexuality is immoral, or intrinsically disordered. Do you believe incest is morally wrong? Why/why not? Additionally, do you believe bans on incestuous marriage are unconstitutional, and incestuous couples should be allowed to marry? Why/why not?

    Is Homosexuality a Disorder?

Moved from ACW's thread. Are homosexual desires and behaviors inherently disordered (ie, divorced from the biological function(s) of sex)?
