Right, apparently 6 to 8 shots is OK. 16 is overkill ?
I see from footage how cops pull up to a scene and as they park, they turn the wheel a bit to point the camera just off the scene; dirty cops?
This thread started with a different 17 year old victim of police shootings. It so happens that Laquan was only 17 as well.

It was rhetorical and it's not so much "dirty" as careful to protect each other when a scene is live. I have noticed it in numerous dash cam and other police owned video. They have been known to destroy, withhold or alter video that is damaging to the officer and department, as the article mentioned.
The question has to be - why 16 shots ?

Because why not. Because what difference will it make. Because the kid will be dead one way or another. Because they assume they'll get away with it. Because they almost always do. Because at the end of the day their attitude was (and remains) screw this punk, that's why.

Literally no one should be surprised by this situation. The murder of this kid, or the cover up. The horrible part is that McDonald's death isn't or shouldn't be shocking. This is what we've become.
If authorities can do anything they wish, if they can kill with impunity, if literally anything you do becomes an automatic capital offense, that's a police state. No question.

yep, and even though this happened over a year ago, the cop was only just charged yesterday. I'm curious as to how the case goes, I'll be watching for this cop to go to prison.
The shots rang out for 15 seconds or more and Lequan McDonald was down and out in the first 2 seconds. The force of 16 shots is not justifiable. The cop began shooting immediately after arriving on the scene. 1st degree murder
Lesson: Don't run around terrorizing the neighborhood with a knife.

Do you realize how quickly a person with a knife can overtake someone even if they have their gun drawn?
You should watch some police training videos someday. It's truly scary. Many officers have been killed by thugs with knives.
Therefore.... if you are going to run around terrorizing people with a knife you will likely get shot and killed and rightfully so.
It's almost as if cops these days don't trust their weapons and bullets. You would think 2 or 3 or even 4 shots would do the trick, instead it's like a movie or a video game and they spend all the ammo. If it was a 32 round clip ? Are they rubber blanks ? The cop was reported to begin reloading after the first dozen and a half.
