Not so, passover lamb.
you know this

The word "atonement" is often referred to as what happened at the Cross? Do you deny that?

And that is the way that I meant the word "atonement" when I said:

You must not understand that here the words "precious blood of Christ" are referring to the atonement.

Now will you continue to deny that these people to whom Peter addressed received blessings which flow from the Cross?:

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot" (1 Pet.1:18-19).

They were redeemed, and looked forward to having their sins blotted out. Just as the Law foreshadowed...

Its true that God is no respector of persons because His Election of some to Salvation is based soley on Sovereign Grace and not on anything the sinner might do. Its only based on His own purpose and will Rom 9:11

11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth)

See all the elect before God saves them are just like others dead in sins, and by nature children of wrath, hating God Eph 2:1-3. So God saw nothing in them which caused them to differ from the non elect who will die in their sins according to Gods purpose of wrath and justice. If we think God elected one to salvation because of his or faith, obedience, repentance etc, then we are charging God with having respect of persons because He seen some good quality or feature or trait that set them apart from others.
