How to smell good

This is what this thread is about:

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

2 Corinthians 2:15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

2 Corinthians 2:16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

God will use us to manifest the savour of life wherever we go! He has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Preaching the gospel of the grace of God makes us smell good!

All the references to smell are analogies, parables, com-parables.

Parables try to make one point - and the point I believe that is being made is that certain things are PLEASING to God and others not.
A sweet fragrance is pleasing. Being unclean is not.

Even the concept of being "unclean" is a simile/metaphor/parable.

We are not literally unclean. But something we have done is displeasing to God, like a dog having rolled in it.

I don't think there is anything literally wrong with the flesh.
Even with halitosis, BO God still loves us. They have switched off the smellovision in heaven.
