My Experience of a Far Left, SJW Infested University Campus

I won't feed my good friend TH's ego by making this thread about him.

I remember not long ago how liberal you were on the issues here on TOL. While I don't know if you're still for socialized medicine, etc. I'm glad that your eyes are open to the left wing bias that college campuses are spewing out.

I will never not be for universal healthcare. This is as much a cultural difference as anything else. I challenge you to find one British person, even on the right who is against it. It's not considered a left/right political issue here. But let's not make this thread about healthcare.

Indeed, I never realised the extent of what's going on across university campuses. This identity politics movement is toxic.

i'm undergoing something similar, here in upstate NY - the best part about it is that the campus is overwhelmingly female, young and cute :Shimei:

When and if you get in a debate with one of your liberal prof's you can let him or her know "But I am for socialist healthcare!" and that'll ease the tension between you two.

If a conservative whether they live in the UK, the US or anywhere else is for the government controlling health care, they really can't call themselves "a conservative".

Indeed, I never realised the extent of what's going on across university campuses. This identity politics movement is toxic.

Keep in mind that there is no middle of the road in this culture war Pete, you're going to have a take a side.

I think when you go in expecting to find demons hiding behind every bush, and lurking is every phrase you hear, then you will find exactly what you expected. Because you set yourself up to ignore everything else.

And to a misogynist, everything will look like "feminism".

 Projection at it's finest. Thankfully, your tunnel vision is not relevant to any *legitimate* laws.

You agreed with this post:

Two things that you need to prove:

1). That there isn't left wing bias in institutions of supposed 'higher learning' (college and university campuses), therefore it's just a figment of Pete's imagination.

2). That Pete (as your buddy PureX implied) is a woman hater because he's exposing a radical feminist agenda that has taken over college and university campuses.

Why?

He didn't really say that.

I don't often agree with Pure and I don't believe that his focus is the actual problem here, but all he's saying is we often find what we're looking for and exclude what we aren't. It's human nature.

I won't feed my good friend TH's ego by making this thread about him.
That was funny. :plain: Do it again.

Jesus was born so that He would die on the Cross.
Right. The Lamb of God.

That being said:

While I wouldn't suggest that Pete take a whip to the left wing college profs, he should note that Jesus didn't always turn the other cheek.
I've never suggested that there isn't a season for that. The problem is that for too many it's a one page calendar.

I can pull up the three websites that I posted for Pete about left wing indoctrination on college campuses and then you can try to wiggle your way out of those facts.
I said you need to improve your reading comprehension. Add memory to it. That response (of mine, to avoid confusion on your part) was to your left wing nonsense aimed in my direction. Your clue should have been that it immediately followed your remarks on the point. :plain:

You should know how grateful I am when you help me out TH but you really should work on your reading comprehension because I talked about calm educated discourse in an earlier post.
Two problems with your response: first, I neither read nor commented on the earlier post you're noting and b) your attempt to parrot my complaint isn't then connected to anything I actually read or wrote. And since you seemed (judging by your comment that I found objectionable) to be having a hard time understanding what I actually wrote to lmohm I decided to simplify the thing.

Other than that it's peachy. :thumb:

Feminists love to get useless degrees in subjects such as 'gender studies' over here and then complain that men get better jobs than them. It's yet another irony which seems to be completely lost on feminists. "Victimhood" comes firmly under the banner of "oppression", and it honestly seems that many people want to be "oppressed" because it makes them "special". It goes hand in hand with the self entitled, narcissistic, instant gratification culture we live in. In a perverse twist, it then happens that those who cry "oppression" actually become the oppressors, treating anyone who dares to dissent by having a different opinion as a kind of heretic.

Europe in general is more liberal than America, though not all countries are equal in their views. Sweden is perhaps the most feminist country on earth, now giving out mandatory books on feminism to all high school students. Whereas if you head towards Eastern Europe and countries such as Hungary and Poland, you will find people are generally less feminist and less liberal. I spent five days in Hungary last week for a short holiday and I must say that it was a most enjoyable place to visit. A great break from the madness back home!

Welcome back LMOHM! Good to see you are doing well.

I've posted this video a few times but just in case you haven't seen it, here it is. The guy in the video lives in Sweden and he gives his take on what Sweden is like. He covers several topics including feminism, imigration, and nationalism. Some points that really stood out to me are:

1) It is considered "racist" to have even remotely nationalist views. If a native Swede wants to promote Swedish culture over non-Swedish culture they are labeled "racist". However, it's ok for immigrants to be nationalist.

2) The Greeting scandal. A muslim man was hired to work as a greeter. On his first day of work he refused to shake hands with his female supervisor because she was female. She told him that it is customary to greet everyone with a handshake. He reported her to the local government for "discrimination". The local goverment paid him $4,500 to drop the complaint.

...I said you need to improve your reading comprehension...

How about we all work on our reading comprehension together and discuss these 3 websites that I've linked in earlier posts showing that liberal bias (as Pete has stated) is a huge problem on college and university campuses?

http://www.thecollegefix.com/
http://www.campusreform.org/
http://www.campus-watch.org/

Decisions, decisions: What should be talk about first?

Hmmmm....this a good one from Campus Reform:

Ohio State encourages students to participate in Black Lives Matter movement
http://www.campusreform.org/

No, let's talk about this one:

Kent State professor tied up in ‘heavy caseload’ of ISIS investigations
http://www.campusreform.org/

In the event you haven't heard of ISIS, they decapitate people ("infidels") who amongst other things refuse to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ.

There are so many subjects that we can talk about from these 3 websites, I look forward to you refuting any of the information provided (thus helping me with my "reading comprehension" as well as my "left wing nonsense").

Americans should really travel more.

Iran would be a good travel destination for you Granite. Be sure to tell them that while you do defend the mass murdering pedophile Muhammad, you don't believe in their mythical god Allah.

That'll go over well.

And to a misogynist, everything will look like "feminism". So perhaps you should spend more time considering the bias in your own eyes, and less time focusing on the bias in everyone else's?

I don't think he is biased. He has suffered oppression.

Why? I mean a) why should I work on a thing I don't have a demonstrable problem with and b) who is debating a liberal tilt to universities?

Decisions, decisions: What should be talk about first?
If your past is prologue it has to be gays, Muslims, or liberals...maybe closeted Muslim liberals?

Any more deficiencies you want to a) make up concerning others or b) illustrate personally?

Ah yes, a "liberal tilt" (Note how TH downplays the intolerant-jack booted thug-leftwing indoctrination of youth on college and university campuses by using the term "liberal tilt").

There is no need to talk about homosexuality, as you've been very open about your beliefs on that subject:

http://www.theologyonline.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4560059&postcount=1128

("So does penicillin. Next.")

which by the way reflects what is being taught on college and university campuses.

I'd love to talk about how colleges and universities are defending the barbarians who call themselves "Muslim". Care to engage in a debate over that subject?

Nothing like rationality to make a thing plain as can be. And that was certainly nothing like it.

Here's what you wrote then and my response to it as noted:

But no. It was inevitable and within the context of the law, the correct call, but I'm never encouraged when sin is accommodated. Should they have the right? Yes. Do you have the right to do any number of things I don't actually approve of? You do. Is some of that sinful? It is.

And ultimately we make our choices and answer to God.

Reason is taught on most of the decent ones. You could use a course.

You haven't demonstrated the ability to debate or to even differ honestly. Why on earth would I do more than I'm doing now in relation to your nonsense?

I don't think he is biased. He has suffered oppression.

I would take exception to this comment from his opening post:

"it is also treated as an immutable fact that we live in a rape culture. This in turn leads on to the presumption that all men are potential rapists who need to be "taught not to rape".

Considering the recent degeneration and scorn towards rape victims that we have recently witnessed in several threads, it's fairly obvious that rapists need to be taught and repeatedly told that rape is never acceptable and purely the fault of the rapist.

right, pete referenced "all men"

and you referenced "rapists"

thereby making pete's point :thumb:
