Praise the Lord!

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 18:2

I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD.
Psalm 71:16

:poly:

I Will Go in the Strength of the Lord

I will go in the strength of the Lord, in the path He marked for my feet:
I will follow the light of His Word, nor shrink from the dangers I meet.
His presence my steps shall attend: His fullness my wants shall supply;
On Him, till my journey shall end, My hope shall securely rely.

I will go in the strength of the Lord, to the work He appoints me to do:
In the joy which His smile shall afford my soul shall her vigor renew.
His wisdom will guard me from harm, His pow’r my sufficiency prove;
I will trust His omnipotent arm, I will rest in His covenant love.

I will go in the strength of the Lord, to each conflict which faith may require,
His grace, as my shield and reward, my courage and zeal shall inspire.
If He issue the word of command to meet and encounter the foe,
Though with sling and with stone in my hand, in the strength of the Lord I will go.

:poly:

“I will follow You wherever You go.”
Matthew 8:19

If Jesus Goes With Me

It may be in the valley, where countless dangers hide;
It may be in the sunshine that I, in peace, abide;
It may be I must carry the blessed Word of life
Across the burning deserts to those in sinful strife;
But if it be my portion to bear my cross at home,
While others bear their burdens beyond the billow’s foam;
It is not mine to question the judgment of my Lord,
It is but mine to follow the leadings of His Word.
’Tis Heaven to me, where’er I may be, if He is there!
I count it a privilege here, His cross to bear,
If Jesus goes with me, I’ll go anywhere!

Praise the Lord!
May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob defend you; may He send you help…and strengthen you. May He grant you according to your heart's desire, and fulfill all your purpose...May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. Psalm 20:1-2, 4-5

The LORD is the strength of my life.
Psalm 27:1

:poly:

Lord of My Life!

Lord of my life! Whose tender care
Hath led me on till now,
Here lowly at the hour of daily prayer
Before Thy radiant throne I humbly bow;
I bless Thy gracious hand, and pray
Forgiveness for this day.

Oh, may I daily, hourly, strive
In heav’nly grace to grow;
To Thee and to Thy glory ever live,
Dead to all other earthly things below;
Tread in the path my Savior trod,
Though thorny, yet to God.

With prayers my humble praise I bring
For mercies day by day;
Lord! teach my willing heart Thy love to sing,
Lord! teach me now and ever how to pray;
All that I have, I give to Thee
Through all eternity.

:poly:

Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established.
Proverbs 16:3

Life in the Loom

Children of yesterday, heirs of tomorrow,
What are you weaving? labor and sorrow?
Look to your loom again, faster and faster
Fly the great shuttles prepared by the Master.
Lighten the labor and sweeten the sorrow,
Now while the shuttles fly faster and faster,
Up and be doing the work with the Master.
Look at your fabric of labor and sorrow;
Seamy and dark with despair and disaster,
Turn it and lo, the design of the Master.

Praise the Lord!

The secret things belong to the LORD our God.
Deuteronomy 29:29
It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.
Acts 1:7

:poly:

If We Could See Beyond Today

If we could see beyond today as God can see,
If all the clouds should roll away, the shadows flee;
O’er present grief’s we would not fret,
Each sorrow we would soon forget,
For many joys are waiting yet for you and me.

If we could know beyond today as God doth know,
Why dearest treasures pass away, and tears must flow;
And why the darkness leads to light,
Why dreary days will soon grow bright,
Some day life’s wrong will be made right, faith tells us so.

If we could see, if we could know we often say,
But God in love a veil doth throw across our way.
We cannot see what lies before,
And so we cling to Him the more,
He leads us till this life is o’er, trust and obey.

:poly:

My times are in Your hand.
Psalm 31:15
So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12

My Times Are in Thy Hand

My times are in Thy hand, my God, I want them there,
My life, my friends, my soul I leave entirely to Thy care.
My times are in Thy hand, as best may seem to Thee.
My times are in Thy hand; why should I doubt or fear?
My Father’s hand will never cause His child a needless tear.
My times are in Thy hand, I’ll always trust in Thee,
And, after death, at Thy right hand I shall forever be.

Praise the Lord!

Hide me under the shadow of Your wings.
Psalm 17:8

:poly:

Thou Tender, Gracious Father

Thou tender, gracious Father, who watches over me,
How shall I ever praise Thee, how love and honor Thee?
Thou guidest me with caution from every secret snare,
And ’neath Thy wings a refuge I find in my despair.

With raiment, food and shelter, whate’er my needs imply,
For soul and body ever, do Thou in grace supply.
O Lord, I soon would perish if aught Thou should exclude;
O could I love Thee better and prove my gratitude.

In childlike, true obedience help me to do the right;
May precious be Thy statutes, Thy yoke be pleasant light!
And when some hardship threatens, a danger frightens me,
May Thou in all my trials my present helper be.

Thy heart is all compassion, with love it overflows;
Whate’er of ill betide me, Thou knowest, and my woes.
Thou dost not sleep nor slumber, by night nor thru the days;
Thine arms, almighty Father, enfold all time and space.

:poly:

Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns;
yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not of more value than they?

Matthew 6:26

My Heav’nly Father Watches Over Me

I trust in God wherever I may be,
Upon the land, or on the rolling sea,
For come what may, from day to day,
My heav’nly Father watches over me.
I trust in God, I know He cares for me;
On mountain bleak or on the stormy sea;
Tho’ billows roll, He keeps my soul;
My heav’nly Father watches over me.

Praise the Lord!

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

:poly:

Just When I Need Him

Just when I need Him, Jesus is near,
Just when I falter, just when I fear;
Ready to help me, ready to cheer,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him, Jesus is true,
Never forsaking all the way through;
Giving for burdens pleasures anew,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him, Jesus is strong,
Bearing my burdens all the day long;
For all my sorrow giving a song,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him, He is my all,
Answering when upon Him I call;
Tenderly watching lest I should fall,
Just when I need Him most.

:poly:

For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him.
2 Corinthians 13:4

Just a Closer Walk With Thee

I am weak, but Thou art strong; Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long as I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
Through this world of toil and snares, if I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares? None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.
When my feeble life is o’er, time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o’er to Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.
Just a closer walk with Thee, grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee, let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Praise the Lord!
Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will…Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31

:poly:

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for Heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Let not your heart be troubled, His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

I sing because I’m happy,
Yes and I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

:poly:

Give thanks to the LORD for His goodness.
Psalm 107:8

Break Forth, O Joyful Heart

Break forth, O joyful heart, and make His goodness known,
Who all thy life, though undeserved, such love to thee has shown.
’Twas Jesus sought my wand’ring soul, and with a shepherd’s care
He brought me kindly to His fold, and still protects me there.
He is my advocate with God, my Savior and my friend,
His mercies new with every morn like balmy showers descend.
My soul shall magnify the Lord, my voice His love proclaim,
And every power within me join to bless and praise His name.
Break forth, O joyful heart, break forth, no longer silent be;
Break forth in grateful praise to Him who came to ransom Thee.

John 14:27

Sunday Morning Praise

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

O words of comfort granted for every need and care,
The very message wanted to chase away despair;
This sweet command of Jesus was meant to be obeyed
“Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

When disappointment scatters your hopes like autumn leaves;
When all is lost that matters, and all is left that grieves;
When chastisement and sorrow on darkened days are laid;
“Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

When past sins rise unbidden, to spoil the present good,
And all the light is hidden, by some desponding mood,
He whispers in compassion, “My love the debt hath paid;
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

When health and strength are failing, beneath the load of years,
And toil seems unavailing, and life is thronged with fears,
“Fear not!” He saith,” In weakness my strength is perfect made;
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

O soul, redeemed by Jesus, all Heav’n is pledged to aid:
“Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

:poly:

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
John 14:27

Resting in God’s Peace

My soul is resting in God’s peace, without a doubt or fear;
The boisterous waves of trouble cease, for Christ, my Lord, is near.
The Spirit poureth from on high, a sanctifying tide,
And bathing in its streams of joy, my soul is satisfied.
My hand in His, I will not fear, how fierce may be the storm;
I’m sheltered in His love each day, and kept from all alarm.
He drives my every doubt away, He gives me childlike faith;
And so I take the yea or nay, just as my Father saith.
Resting, resting, resting in God’s sweet peace;
Resting, yes I'm resting, I’m resting in God’s sweet peace.

The finest of wheat.
Psalm 81:16
The bread of heaven.
Psalm 105:40

:poly:

Fed Upon the Finest of the Wheat

Hungry, Lord, for Thy Word of truth,
Sitting at my Savior’s feet;
Rising, gleaning, just like Ruth,
Feed me on the finest of the wheat.

Work for the Master I will do,
Trusting in His strength so great;
Living in His pastures new,
Feed me on the finest of the wheat.

Then to the harvest let us go,
Bugles sounding no retreat;
Workers for Jesus, He wants you
Fed upon the finest of the wheat.

Bread of life it is now to me,
Honey, milk and meat;
In Thy love I will ever be
Fed upon the finest of the wheat.

:poly:

Jesus said…“I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger.”
John 6:35

Break Thou The Bread of Life

Break Thou the bread of life, dear Lord, to me,
As Thou didst break the loaves beside the sea;
Beyond the sacred page I seek Thee, Lord;
My spirit pants for Thee, O living Word!
Bless Thou the truth, dear Lord, to me, to me,
As Thou didst bless the bread by Galilee;
Then shall all bondage cease, all fetters fall;
And I shall find my peace, my all in all.

And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying,
"Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this."

New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Sunday Morning Praise

John Saw

John saw, jasper walls, oh my, oh my, what a vision.
John told us, it's like the streets of gold,
Where all God's saints shall forever stroll.
I wonder time and again, how could it have been
To gaze upon that heavenly throne.
But, I'll wonder no more, when I step on that shore,
To walk upon that golden ground that John saw.

John saw a man, I know I'll share
He saw a river, flowin' there
John tell me more, John tell me more, John tell it all,
John saw a throne so bright and fair,
He saw the gate with beauty rare.
Someday, I want to walk the golden ground that John saw.

John heard a voice, from heaven saying
I'll brush the tears, all tears away.
John tell me more, John tell it all, John tell it all.
He said no death shall enter there,
No grief or pain for us to bear;
Oh, How, I long to walk the golden ground that John saw.

Just now a glimpse, of paradise,
John saw a tree, a tree of life.
John tell me more, John tell me more, John tell it all.
The sun and moon no longer shine
The Lamb of God now is the light;
Forever shining on the golden ground that John saw.

That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19

:poly:

Sunday Morning Praise

The Love of Christ

How broad is Christ's love?
Oh, as broad as man's trespass,
As wide as the need of the world can be;
And yet to the need of one soul it can narrow
He came to the world and He came to me.

How long is Christ's love?
Without end or beginning,
Eternal as God and His life it must be,
For, to everlasting as from everlasting
He loveth the world and He loveth me.

How deep is Christ's love?
Oh, as deep as man's sinning.
As low as the uttermost vileness can be;
In the fathomless gulf of the Father's forsaking
He died for the world and He died for me.

How high is Christ's love?
It is high as the heavens,
As high as the throne of His glory must be;
And yet from that height He hath stooped to redeem us
He so loved the world and He so loved me.

How great is Christ's love?
Oh, it passeth all knowledge,
No man's comprehension its measure can be;
It filleth the world, yet each heart may contain it
He so loves the world and He so loves me.

Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways,
And how small a whisper we hear of Him!
But the thunder of His power who can understand?

Job 26:14

:poly:

O Thou, In All Thy Might

O Thou, in all Thy might so far,
In all Thy love so near,
Beyond the range of sun and star,
And yet beside us here.

What heart can comprehend Thy name,
Or, searching, find Thee out,
Who art within, a quickening Flame,
A Presence round about.

Yet though I know Thee but in part,
I ask not, Lord, for more;
Enough for me to know Thou art,
To love Thee and adore.

And dearer than all things I know
Is childlike faith to me,
That makes the darkest way I go
An open path to Thee.

Praise the Lord!

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.

Psalm 23:2

:poly:

Beside the Still Waters

Beside the still waters of peace my shepherd leads;
Peace is my spirit possessing, my soul He feeds.
Pastures so green are around me, waters of life shall flow;
Fairest of flowers surround me, ever I onward go.

Beside the still waters, oh Father, my God,
There lead me, there feed me, there show me Thy Word;
There give me Thy counsel, there grant me Thy peace,
There make all my sorrows and wanderings cease.

Beside the still waters, enlighten my eye,
That I may walk worthily when Thou art nigh;
Cleanse me from presumption, my heart render pure,
Keep me from transgression and make my faith sure.

Beside the still waters, oh bountiful store,
I drink from their plenty and thirst nevermore;
No more I am weary when there I may rest,
And feel with Thy mercy and love I am blessed.

Beside the still waters, Thy goodness is there,
Protects me from danger, preserves me from care;
For pain has no terror and death has no sting,
While Thou art so near me, my Lord and my King.

Philippians 1:3, 6 "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you...being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ..." -- There are a lot of people that I'm thankful for in my life, some were by a chance meeting, some were at meetings or church, some were purposed by the Lord that we should meet and form a friendship together as we serve the Lord daily.

I believe that the friendship we have here at TOL consists of praying for each other, encouraging each other and offering help as we are able, waiting on the Lord together, as we share or experience the trials and triumphs on our Christian pilgrimage. Not only to encouraged but also blessed by the friends of TOL as we travel together, be careful not to forget them, for I believe they remember you before the Lord in prayer and in memory of the friendship you have.

Let us travel today with Philippians 1:3, 6, and it will a blessing for you as you pray for each other. "Heavenly Father, bless my dear friend with the riches of Your grace, mercy, lovingkindness, and the joy of the Lord, in Jesus name, Amen."

I just did a little study on "bread."

Jesus - the Bread of Heaven, the bread of Life.

Bethlehem - House of Bread.

Jesus laid in a manger, a "container" for many to eat out of.

Jesus said, "if you do not eat my body and drink my blood you have no part in me." And the beloved disciple said "many turned away from Him because this saying was too hard for them."

WE take of this Bread and bless Him and give Him to others.

Thank you, Psalmist, for the encouragement!
