The atmosphere is spinning right along with the earth and, in fact, is part of the Earth and so it isn't cutting through itself.

Clete

The earth is not the atmosphere. Solids things move through gases and liquids.

Since I did not originate "flat earth" or "We never went to the moon", arguing on behalf, e.i. repeating the arguments, of those who did was the whole point of this thread. Funny how you and so many others have missed the main point.

--Dave
We have not said that this idea was original with you. We are saying that you repeat things that have been proven FALSE... and you repeat them repeatedly.

What "point" have we missed?

The atmosphere is part of the earth, Dave. It turns with the earth due to friction

The first rule of rational though is distinction. A thing is what it is and not something else. The law of identity.

It's irrational to say the atmosphere is part of the earth. It's distinct from the earth and not anymore part of it than atmospheres are part of sun, moon, or other planets, and stars. In other words, if sun, moon, and stars or other planets have no atmosphere, then having one on earth is not a necessity, or necessarily a part of it. The atmosphere is necessary for life not for the existence of a planet.

The earth is not only said to be spinning at 1000 mph but also moving thorough space around the sun at the speed of 67,000 mph. But we never feel or experience it?

The EARTH'S atmosphere moves with the earth. It's just that simple Dave.

Guess what Dave? When I ride the train, the train appears to be still while the earth outside is moving.

:AMR:

It's irrational to say the atmosphere is part of the earth.

Saying it doesn't make it so, Dave.

It's distinct from the earth

No, Dave, the atmosphere is part of the whole earth.

and not anymore part of it than atmospheres are part of sun, moon, or other planets, and stars.

SURE THEY ARE, DAVE! Why on earth would you say that they are not?

In other words, if sun, moon, and stars or other planets have no atmosphere,

The sun and all stars DO have an atmosphere.

The moon DOES have an atmosphere.

The planets DO have atmospheres.

To what extent is a different matter, but they have atmospheres. Which means that the rest of your sentence is based on a faulty premise:

then having one on earth is not a necessity, or necessarily a part of it. The atmosphere is necessary for life not for the existence of a planet.

You seem to have the wrong idea about what an atmosphere is.

An atmosphere is simply a layer of gases surrounding the surface of a celestial body.

They're not "for" anything.

God simply designed the atmosphere on earth differently than all others to be able to sustain life.

The earth is not only said to be spinning at 1000 mph but also moving thorough space around the sun at the speed of 67,000 mph. But we never feel or experience it?

Non sequitur, but anyways...

If it takes a day to complete one revolution, and a year to go around a point even at that speed, then no, you won't feel it, because, relatively speaking, the amount of movement is extremely small in relation to the amount of time it takes.

But just try riding "on top" of the train instead of "inside" of it and your experience is quite different. When you're on top of a moving train you know you are moving and the earth around you is not moving. We are on top of a moving earth not inside of a moving earth.

The sun, moon, and stars or other planets have no life, no trees, no water, which means they have no atmosphere such as we have on earth. That they have may or may not have gases is not the point. And since we have never been anywhere else other than earth, as I have argued, then we have no way of knowing with any certainty that we are made of.

But regardless, our atmosphere of earth is not part of the earth anymore than gases are solids. The existence of gases do not require solids or vise versa.

Indeed Dave because the air outside of the train is moving at nearly the same speed as the earth. And the train is moving at a high speed relative to BOTH the earth and the air that moves WITH the earth.

When you're on top of a moving train you know you are moving and the earth around you is not moving. We are on top of a moving earth not inside of a moving earth.

--Dave
What in the heck is that supposed to mean? You're RIGHT... we are on top of a MOVING earth. Moving relative to other objects in the universe.

Again you are acting like a child without understanding.

Sorry Dave, but you're trying to take a simple analogy to an extreme that it wasn't meant to fulfill.

We are on top of a moving earth not inside of a moving earth.

--Dave

We are inside the atmosphere of a moving planet, Dave. Outside the atmosphere there isn't anything significant enough to "blow" against you.

The sun, moon, and stars or other planets have no life, no trees, no water, which means they have no atmosphere such as we have on earth.

So?

You're basically agreeing with me with that statement. I said that God made earth's atmosphere different than all others, that it can support life.

Would you like to retract your previous claim that the sun, stars, and moon and planets do not have atmospheres?

That they have may or may not have gases is not the point.

An atmosphere is MADE of gases, you baka. Oxygen? Gas. Nitrogen? Gas. Argon? Gas. Carbon dioxide? Gas. Water vapor (H2O)? Duh, it's a gas.

Those are the components of our atmosphere which make it hospitable to life.

Other atmospheres do not have the same ratios of those gases, and may or may not have those gases at all, and may or may not have other gases mixed in, which renders them inhospitable to life.

And since we have never been anywhere else other than earth, as I have argued, then we have no way of knowing with any certainty that we are made of.

Question begging, and ignoring spectrometer readings.

Do you know what a spectrometer is, Dave?

But regardless, our atmosphere of earth is not part of the earth

SAYING IT DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!

anymore than gases are solids.

Which as nothing to do with anything anyone has said.

The earth as a whole is made up of solids, liquids, and gases. Denying reality is the quickest way to get to insanity, Dave.

The existence of gases do not require solids or vise versa.

Which has nothing to do with anything anyone has said.
