The Importance of Believing that God Raised Jesus From the Dead

You're a "Hyper-Calvinist" and believe God ONLY chose a certain
amount of people (The Elect) to inherit eternal life and the rest
are destined for the Lake of Fire. You and your ilk have
misinterpreted a few Scripture verses, to back your belief system.

Of course, you're WRONG!!

You reject the Gospel of Gods Grace in Christ!

Paul said, "And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. Yea and we are found to be false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if that be so then the dead do not rise. For if the dead rise not, then Christ is not raised and if Christ is not raised, your faith is in vain and you are still in your sins. Then those that have fallen asleep in Christ have perished" 1 Corinthians 15:14-18.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the heart of Christianity. You can believe that works save and you can believe in predestination, but if you do not believe that God raised Jesus from the dead you are lost.

Why is the resurrection of Jesus so important? Simply because when Jesus died on the cross we died with him. We have been crucified with Christ, not only us that are Christians, but all of humanity was crucified with Christ. God put to death the whole sinful Adamic race in Jesus Christ, Romans 6:6. This is how God defeated sin, death and the devil, Colossians 2:15.

When Jesus walked out of Josephs new tomb our new humanity walked out with him. This is why Paul wrote, "Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creation: old things have passes away; behold all things have become new" 2 Corinthians 5:17.

God and his Son Jesus Christ like new things. They were not interested in trying to re-habilitate the old sinful Adam which is religion, instead they put him to death and brought forth a new humanity in Jesus Christ. All things will be new. A new heaven, a new earth, a new kingdom.

Religion, especially the Catholic religion, believe that by the works of the law the old sinful Adam can be re-habilitated and can be made acceptable to God. If that were true Jesus lived and died in vain. This is why the Catholic church does not have a Gospel. They are busy, busy, busy trying to re-habilitate the old Adam.

If Jesus has not been risen from the dead all is lost. predestination is not going to save you. If Jesus has not been risen then you have been predestinated to death. If Jesus has not risen then your good works are not going to save you. There is no salvation in a dead and buried Christ.

We who believe are not only risen with Christ, we are in heaven with Christ at the right hand of God, "And has raised us up together and has made us to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" Ephesians 2:6. We don't need to be predestinated. We don't need to be re-habilitated. All that we need is Jesus Christ.
Paul did not believe in a physical body after Jesus died.

And what is the meaning of the word "resurrection" to the first-century mind and to Christians today?

After his death, the healing and eating program of Jesus was still going on. His Power and Presence were still available to them after the crucifixion. His death became a victory, not a scandal.

RESURRECTION: A rising again from the dead.

The resurrection of Jesus means that sin, death and the devil have been defeated and that Jesus is Lord, Colossians 2:15.

It is one of the most important events in human history.

What is a healing and eating program?

Christ ate and met people in space and time. He also moved around apart from its constraints.

No one--anytime, anywhere, anyplace--can cause dead people to come to life.

Everyone knows this, even though traditional Christians claim that even though it does not happen, it happened once in history.

The resurrection is indeed true, but it had nothing to do with Jesus' body. It was a claim by his followers that meant his continuing power and presence was still available to them after the crucifixion.

To those brothers and sisters in Christ that can agree with me on the meaning of the resurrection, then there is really nothing more to say.

And yet you teach those Christ died for, shall wind up in hell !

All will be made clear to you in the judgment. And then poof, gone in a puff of smoke.

Thats a demeaning of Christ's Victorious Death to teach that those He died for and rose for, shall yet die in their sins in unbelief ! That means His Death, Burial and Resurrection in and of itself saved no one !

When you go into the judgment be sure that you bring your other writings from the "Council of Dort". Everyone in the judgment will break up when you read that.

You need to quit stating that Christ defeated sin and the devil and etc, because you turn right around and deny it by teaching that those Christ died for wind up in hell !:duh:

Wonderful post!

What God had Jesus Christ do for us we could never do for ourselves.

You believe that those Christ rose from the dead in behalf of somehow die in their sins in unbelief !

If someone is handing out free tickets to your favorite sporting team game but you do not hold out your hand to receive them, you miss out.

God does not force salvation on anyone.

We receive the gift of salvation by doing Romans 10:9-10.

Should someone choose to not receive what was made available to all mankind, they do not receive what God in Christ has done.
