The Importance of Believing that God Raised Jesus From the Dead

Those Christ lived and died for, He believed for them!

Its impossible for anyone that Christ lived and died for to remain in unbelief, since Jesus Christ has believed for them by fulfilling the Law for them!

Evidently you missed an important point in John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

No one receives from God until they believe God by believing God's word.

The best biblical and historical scholars concerning the resurrection are those who:

1.Have a working knowledge of the emergence and the description of a resurrection in Jewish history

2.Find the earliest biblical reference of resurrection and map its evolution and drastic changes from Paul's letters to the Book of Revelation

3.Find out what Paul actually meant by the word and why he believed resurrection involved a spiritual, glorified body and not a walking, animated corpse.

4.And find out how the notion of resurrection ended up as a way to subvert the scandal of Jesus' execution and turn it into a victory.

5.And finally, make some conjectures as to why the notion became a way for Christians to devise a way for them to be elevated to heaven and have salvation.

Praise Jesus - that you have nothing really more to say. you're wrong except the resurrection paragraph - wrong
Resurrection--in its earliest Christian formulation by the Apostle Paul--says nothing about a walking, talking corpse.

And if resurrection is the belief that Christ's Power and Presence was still available to his early followers and still available to us today, then my belief is squarely in the mainstream.

If a brother like yourself does not believe that the resurrection happened, then you are not a Christian.

I'll bet anything that you yourself do not believe in the concept of resurrection in your modern little world. You probably only think that it does not happen, but only happened once in history.

And you are grasping onto that--as a belief only. You probably feel that to be a Christian all you have to do is give your assent to resurrection and other ancient theological frameworks like "Born of a Virgin," "Messiah" and "Son of God" and that is all you need to do.

You folks say to "believe, believe, believe" in low, sonorous tones and yet not suffer the slightest urge to change your own immoral behavior.

In the original, pre-cross gospel, Jesus taught that salvation was by faith and the responsibility that comes with it.

Jesus had explained that he would prove his authority to teach the gospel by allowing himself to be killed and resurrecting his human form from the dead. He did just that.

Not true again, Paul learned of and believed in the resurrection from those who met with Jesus after he raised himself from the dead.
