Lucy, Th, your night and day profiles leave me feeling that something in-between will actually occur; I will not be around to have to contend with it anyway.
Oh yes you will, Sweet Ktoyou! You will either witness/contend here or you will return with Him.

Knight, I wouldn't want to live in any US state which seceeded from the USA. Heck, I wouldn't even want to visit it!
It would no doubt be a totalitarian theocratic dictatorship no better than Iran or Saudi Arabia. Abortion would be illegal, gay people persecuted, school prayer required, even for non-christian kids,
and all that garbage. Everything the USA was never meant to be.
With freedom like this, who needs tyranny?

I would recommend to you a book called The Making of America: The Substance and Meaning of the Constitution to help you with your history shortfall.

The religious system will press on to keep people under the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1 KJV). They won’t preach the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation (Ephesians 1:13 KJV); the gospel of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV). They will continue their outright rebellion failing to distinguish between Israel and the Body; Prophecy vs. Mystery. The confusion will continue. Believers ever being tossed to and fro, carried about with every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:14 KJV). The masses focused on themselves and their own work rather than trusting and resting in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ; who was delivered for our offenses and raised for our justification. (Romans 4:25 KJV)

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The American experience is unique as the history of the world goes. Faux european academic socialists, such as Obama, are due for their surprise shortly.

I think the paperless system will get bigger. Maybe except for the government, they need something to stack on their desks.

The use of debit cards will increase, and paper money and coins will fade into history. But will still be big among numismatists.

The Church will come under a greater attack, because the Church will refuse to swap or barter away the truth for a lie; like Elijah was told in his day, that the God had 7000 that wouldn't bow their knee to Baal. So it is in this day God has a people, God has always had a people that stand for absolute truth, the Bible way of absolute truth.

God's Holy Word, the Bible will also be under attack as it has for years. I find the following bit of verse very appropriate concerning the Bible . . .

The Anvil and the Hammers

Last eve I paused beside the blacksmith's door,
And heard the anvil ring the vesper chime.
Then looking in, I saw on the floor,
Old hammers worn out with beating years of time.

"How many anvils have you had, " said I,
"To wear and batter all these hammers so?"
"Just one," said he, and then with twinkling eye,
"The anvil wears the hammers out, you know."

"And so" I thought, "The anvil of God's word
for ages skeptic blows have beat upon;
Yet, though the noise of falling blows was heard,
The anvil is unharmed, the hammers gone."

I predict that they will have to re-set the Mayan calendar. Also, doesn't the imaginary comet that Omega keeps blathering on about hit in this decade? He'll have to change his date, whenever it doesn't. :chuckle:

Take the topic above and run with it! Slice it, dice it, give us your general thoughts about it. Everyday there will be a new TOL Topic of the Day.
If you want to make suggestions for the Topic of the Day send a Tweet to @toldailytopic or @theologyonline or send it to us via Facebook.
Technically, the daily topic should read, "The end of the first decade of the 21st century: How will it end." The new decade does not begin until 2011 for the same reasons that the 21st century began on 01/01/2001. There is no year zero so the first year of a century or a decade starts at 1.

Now that the nit-pickey stuff is out of the way, if Cap & Trade and Health Care get passed then America as I knew it will cease to exist and I fear for my children. Truly fear for them. My best case scenario is that the House and Senate will be unable to reconcile their versions of the two bills and nothing will happen.

Never ever forget, there is no problem so bad that Government can't make it worse.

If this were true, no one would be alive until they were one year old. :duh:

It's just another way to say, "I'm smarter than you." The year 2010 is the start of the topic decade, having been defined as such in the OP... but since there is no OP, I guess that means you're in charge?!? :squint:
