Trump supporters: turning pro-choice?

From what I've seen: they simply contained everyone for a few weeks, washed everything and then went back to a clean house. Would that even be possible in a country the size of the USA?

You left out the most important parts:

1) Extensive testing
2) Extensive contact tracing (using cell phone data, etc)
3) Aggressive quarantine program
4) Everyone wears face masks in public

Of course, we could do all of that here, but we're too lazy and entitled to bother with it.

Ohhh

those millions

A fan site I belong to: "Michiganders Against Excessive Quarantine," has had dozens of people (including doctors and nurses) telling of people being labeled as COVID-positive who had never even been tested. Makes me wonder about the 'real' numbers. So does all the drops in other cases of death since the Chinese Virus called: COVID-19 was exposed.

Hogwash. I won't wear a mask because my immune system needs to receive outside influences in order to work properly. I don't get sick. Don't want to be given 'health advice' from a bunch of Big Pharma Quacks, either. It's a waste of time and effort. Now, when South Korea relaxes their efforts, they'll most likely look like Italy, or even worse.

As you've been told, the main purpose of a mask is to protect others, not yourself. (this is different in hospital corona wards, where the protective equipment is needed to protect the health care workers). Simple things like wearing a mask and keeping 2 meters away from people are what will allow you to get back to normal, or at least closer to normal.

People in Asia have been wearing masks for many years. Anybody with a cold wears a mask, as a courtesy (look up the word) to the people around them.

I am wearing a mask as I write. I am in my office for the first time in 2 months. Here (Israel) we are getting things back to normal. Slowly, carefully- but we are doing it.

This has nothing to do with big pharma, just common sense. And sorry- South Korea will never look like Italy. Because they won't relax their efforts. And people there care about the society around them. Spain and the UK already look like Italy. The US has a good chance of ending up the same, partly because too many Americans think like you.

Wearing masks weakens your immune system. I haven't donned a mask, deal with the public every day; haven't gotten sick once.

Have you met "tieman55" yet? You two are cut from the same cloth.

I see Trump is late to the party regarding mask-wearing for White House staff: White House—Finally—Directs Staff to Wear Face Coverings

Better late than never, but there are some who it seems will never learn: GOP Ohio state lawmaker refuses to wear face mask because faces are the 'likeness of God'

The religious right were always crackpots like Pat Robertson, but they have gone long past being a "benign tumor" on this country to a "stage 4 cancer" at this point. It's time to wise up.

Your theories are blown out of the water by Sweden. They did NOTHING for COVID-19, results: the same as the rest of the world. :duh:

They did NOTHING for COVID-19, results: the same as the rest of the world. :duh:

Flatly untrue. Sweden's strategy to slow the spread of the virus includes voluntary social distancing, significant decrease in use of public transport, large numbers working from home, and refrained travel. The government has also banned gatherings of more than 50 people and visits to elderly care homes.

Nevertheless, Sweden has seen 23,216 cases of COVID-19 and 2,854 deaths from the virus — a death rate of 279.98 deaths per 1 million people, one of the highest in the world. Other Nordic countries are even lower — Norway has a rate of 40.27 deaths per 1 million people, and Finland has a rate of 43.49. -- https://www.businessinsider.com/us-...rus-approaches-both-could-cause-deaths-2020-5

Leaked White House data shows infections spiking more than 1,000% in rural areas that backed Trump

A leaked unreleased White House coronavirus task force report showing cases spiking in areas across the country has undercut President Donald Trump's claim that cases are declining across the nation.

"You know, the numbers are coming down very rapidly all throughout the country, by the way," Trump declared at a Monday news conference. "There may be one exception, but all throughout the country, the numbers are coming down rapidly."

This is, of course, not true. Though cases are decreasing in 14 states, they are rising in nine states, according to The New York Times.

Take a look at Senegal. They have 16+ million people, very little technology, and only 19 deaths as of yesterday. They have created their own $1 test kits and are 3d printing their own ventilators as they only had 60 of them nationwide at some time around mid March and couldn't afford to buy more. And their main treatment regimen is hydroxychloroquine + azithromycin.

Yeah, the poor, literally, stupid fools have followed Trump's suggestion and have one of the lowest total deaths in the world.

I'd give you a dozen likes for this if I could. You're thinking for yourself rather than allowing yourself to be brainwashed. :first:

Hmm, one wonders:
1. Could there be something else going on in Senegal that we aren't aware of? Maybe you can help us think what might be so different between that country and the US?
2. Why is Senegal doing so much better than solid Republican states like Louisiana, Georgia or even Kansas? Those states aren't following Trumps advice?

They have no completely corrupt socialist/democrats who are using citizen's lives as a political tool. So, the Senagalese end up using what works rather than what is hoped to be a winning political strategy by killing off as many people as possible, and/or just attributing all deaths to coronavirus.

On average 8000 people die every day in the US. That's been true for several years. Now with the coronavirus it's still 8000 people a day. That tells me that almost all deaths are being attributed to the coronavirus. Or, are we to believe that no one has died from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, respiratory diseases, strokes, alzheimer's, accidents, murder, etc... since January of this year? Amazing ain't it?
