When was this again?

Back in the dark ages. They were fairly welcoming to Jews and Christians. They had some of the finest libraries in the world at that time. They had better hygiene than in the European countries and more advanced medical care.
Now they are in the grip of depraved fundamentalists and no one is safe because of it.
Our own days of Inquisition and persecutions are a stain on our history also.

Okay, now I think I see what you meant. You meant the Arabic world, not the Islamic world, correct?

And Islam is what happened to the Arabic world. Along with large sections of northern African and southwest Asia.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — A Middle Eastern sheikh who allegedly said he owned a Ferrari caught on film speeding through a Beverly Hills neighborhood apparently has raced out of town, police said Thursday.
Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar has left the country and the cars are gone, authorities said at a news conference.
Al Thani owns a drag-racing team and is a member of the ruling family of oil- and gas-rich Qatar. An aficionado of fast cars, Al Thani routinely has been photographed racing cars on racetracks, including a Formula 1 racer.
The state-run Qatar News Agency did not immediately report on the incident Friday, the start of the country’s weekend. Authorities in Qatar and at the Qatari Embassy in Washington could not be immediately reached for comment.
The bright yellow, 12-cylinder LaFerrari, which can sell for around $1.4 million new, was spotted along with a white Porsche zooming down narrow streets and blowing through stop signs on Saturday evening until they finally pulled into a driveway, the Ferrari’s engine smoking.
Officers answering reports of reckless driving found both cars parked in a driveway. A man told the officers that the cars belonged to him and denied speeding or driving recklessly, police said.
The man claimed to have diplomatic immunity, but that is unlikely, Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said.

I did not have the heart to start a thread on this unknown and horrific occurrences to which the U.S. Government turns a blind eye to:

The incidents of sexual assault on children described by American service members who served in Afghanistan are sickening. Boys screaming in the night as Afghan police officers attacked them. Three or four Afghan men found lying on the floor of a room at a military base with children between them, presumably for sex play.

No less offensive is that American soldiers and Marines who wanted to intervene could not. According to an account in The Times by Joseph Goldstein, they were ordered by their superiors to ignore abusive behavior by their Afghan allies and “to look the other way because it’s their culture.”

The Pentagon’s indulgent, even complicit, attitude toward pedophiles among the Afghan militias that it funded and trained is indefensible, at odds with American values and with international laws Washington has taken the lead in promoting.

Pervasive sexual abuse of children has long been a problem in Afghanistan. It is especially pronounced among armed commanders who control rural regions and hold sway over the population there. The practice is known as bacha bazi, or boy play; powerful Afghan men often surround themselves with young teenagers as a mark of social status.

The soldier who reported these crimes is dead.

It is apparent the prostitute U.S. Government, who made queer marriage legal, removed Gods Ten Commandments, legalized abortion, and severely curtailed the name of Jesus, is a dark, deviant Government.....
