No, it's a character flaw because it always gets me burnt, no matter how good my intentions are...it's like being the nice person is excuse to punish me for whatever reason seems good to them at the time.

Jesus wasn't nice to the vipers.
He didn't suck it up, but set them straight and not always in flattering terms.
When he wasn't nice and set people straight, he was still the bigger person.
The bigger person doesn't always brush things off.
Yes, you have to forgive.
They're like foolish brothers and sisters who don't know better.
You forgive them, like Jesus forgave on the cross.
Forgiveness could temper your rebuke, but you have license to rebuke, imo.
