George Affleck, I DO believe in free speech for conservatives . I'm not one of those university crazies who tries to violate the right to free speech of conservatives , nor do I approve of what is going on at SOME American universities regarding free speech .
And yes, I'm a proud liberal who believes in separation of church and state , secular values ,
freedom of religion for non-christians, atheists and agnostics in America , gay rights , support same sex marriage , am pro-choice NOT "pro=abortion ", and support gun control laws NOT gun confiscation , a believer in global warming and utterly opposed to Trump's disastrous abolition of environmental protection laws . and all that .
I'm not a socialist . I just believe that the US government MUST help those in need ; the unemployed , people who are unable to earn enough money through no fault of their own, the disabled,
children and infants and so forth .
I believe college should be AFFORDABLE and enough financial aid should be available for students or prospective ones . I believe in a higher minimum wage . I believe the government must not allow wages to stagnate and also the cost of living to increase steadily .
I believe the government must make sure that enough good jobs with good benefits exist .
I believe in capitalism, but not the kind of capitalism which allows a tiny handful of people to become incredibly rich while the vast majority of people struggle to earn enough , provide of their families etc .
I believe in an America where 30,000 people don't die every year because medical care is too expensive and people who are not poor go bankrupt in order to pay for it . And where people don't need food stamps because food is too expensive .
I don't hate rich people and don't want the government to confiscate all of their money or even most of it . I just believe the entire country would be better off if rich people paid their fair share of taxes . They could still live lives of luxury .
I dont hate Christians or Christianity and don't want the government to "persecute " Christians, but this isn't even happening anyway . The only thing I object to are the small minority of intolerant extremest Christians who want to turn America into a more theocratic nation .
I believe in an America where women will not find themselves in the adverse social and economic conditions which cause abortions . Where contraceptives are always easily available and women who are pregnant will not be denied the help they need to provide for children once born . Where government care will PREVENT abortions .
