What does the word ONLY mean to you?

Christ said his Father is the ONLY true God.

That means Jesus Christ is NOT God.

That is the plain and simple English B57

Only means Only, look it up in the dictionary. I never denied that the Father was not the Only True God did I ?

I stated that you have not found a verse that says Jesus Christ is not God !

The verse you quote says:

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Not a word about Jesus Christ not being God, you are reading that into the text !

You simply do not understand English.

ONLY means NO OTHER.

Reading scripture does not rule out thinking

You might want to try that, oh, but wait, your god doesn't let you think because your god is in total control of everything.

i have never seen keypurge refute John 1:1,2 or John 1:14 - or the many other proofs that Jesus Is God - he just keeps saying - read this one verse, read this one and that one. we did read ! we read english. we have brains. use yours. God wants you to. :Shimei:

You have a verse stating that Jesus Christ of the scriptures is not God ?

Do you need one?

Isn't it clear enough that Jesus states that the Father is the only true God?

John 17:3

Well, if you need someone to hold your hand to think that one through, well, you got some learning to do

Oh, but you don't control what you think, your god does.

So, you are incapable of thought.

What is it you use for brain for? filler?

'Christ says his Father is the only true God.

That tells you that Jesus is not God.

But why listen to him, right?
After all he is just the Lord, made so by his God.'

Then why does Jesus tell that He is? [John 1:1-16; 14:8-9]

Do we have a contradiction here?

I do not think so

I know of only a few Christian cults that claim Jesus to be only a man and this is pure blasphemy

Better check up on who you are following

Where in John 1 does it say that Jesus is God?

Show me that Jesus is God in the first book of John.

you have read it 10,000 times or more, John says it best. it's right there in plain english. check it out, instead of asking us to type it:mario:

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Show me who or what the WORD is?

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The WORD was made or became flesh. Jesus was flesh, he did not become flesh.

Early translation called the WORD an IT. They are right.

Jude 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour,
be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

I and my Father are one. John 10:30; 14:9

Christ Jesus is the express image of the invisible God Col. 1:15;
the Creator of all things Col. 1:16; Gen. 1:1. Only He can give one
understanding of the scriptures Luke 24:45

All those Christ died for, the Elect of God, will come to know
the True God of Scripture, as He is revealed in them:

John 17:2-3 As thou hast given him power over all flesh,
that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

God had a son, whom he called Jesus

That son, like most sons chose to do his father's will, not his own.

Jesus' Father willed that man be saved and redeemed, so Jesus Christ worked in his Father's business to do that.

"Even if you took everything you knew about me and turned it into a body of laws... a code of conduct for others to follow so as to achieve my favor before ever having met me... Even if such others were to follow those rules by the letter, you still will not have done nearly as much toward establishing a real and personal relationship between I and them than a simple introduction whereafter they may explore my ways and means for themselves.

And were I a pure and pre-personal Spirit with no discernible body, the only way you could introduce others to me personally is by your very own personal embodiment of me.

So says the Father to the Son in the Spirit... So say I to you in the flesh."- Justin Reed

Where in John 1 does it say that Jesus is God?

John 1 is parabolic, poetic, he shouldn't need to implicitly say Jesus is God for you to understand. As the embodiment of the Father, the Son is God.....but he is not ALL of the Father.

You have a lot of splainin' to do Lucy.

I never claimed that there is a verse that states that "Jesus Christ is not God"

However, if you use your brain, verses like Acts 2:22 and I Timothy 2:5 make that as plain as day.

God and His son are clearly separate beings, one being spirit, the other human.

Did God come in the flesh or did Jesus come in the flesh?

While we are at it, why don't you supply the verses that contain the words trinity, triune, duality, God-man, fully God/fully man, hypostatic union, mother of God, three in one, one God in three persons, God the Son.

How about showing me that "us" or "we" means trinity.

or that I and my Father are one means that that the son and the Father are identical.

or that if you have seen me you have seen the Father means that the Father and His son are identical.

or that anytime anyone uses the words "I am" that means that the person speaking is God.

Am I serious?

I am.

Am I the one asking you for answers to my questions?

I am he.

Maybe you could explain why God calls humans who serve him gods?

Maybe you could explain how the image of someone is that someone?

You have a lot of splainin to do Lucy.
