No, mobsters cannot hang Mike Pence or cut off Trump's head, in spite of jokes and suggestions to the contrary.

Actually they can, as just like the Secret Service protecting the President, Capitol Police are sworn to protect Congressmen and are authorized to use deadly force if they believe that the person or people that they are protecting life/lives are in danger.

That would mean that the black officer could have shot and killed hundreds of unarmed white protesters at the Capital as long as he claimed he thought they were trying to get to congressmen hiding from them.
Capitol Police used a lot of restraint on Jan. 6. Deadly force would have been justified once your domestic terrorists broke into the US Capitol Buildiing.
