Understand something, God is too Holy of a Being to Love any sinner outside of being in Christ, thats why its called the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus Our Lord Rom 8:39

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This Love is exclusive of God, for in the original the word Love is preceded by the definite article :

οὔτε ὕψωμα οὔτε βάθος οὔτε τις κτίσις ἑτέρα δυνήσεται ἡμᾶς χωρίσαι ἀπὸ τῆς ἀγάπης τοῦ θεοῦ τῆς ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ τῷ κυρίῳ ἡμῶν

The Love of the One and Only the God !

BTW, the Love spoken of here of the Love of God Deut 7:7

The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

Can only be that Same Love which is in Christ Jesus Rom 8:39 !

Listen, God does not and cannot Love sinners for the mere sake of them being sinners, because He is Holy ! Yes He is Love, but its an Holy Love and the objects of it must be also.

It is written of God Heb 1:8-9

8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

God Loves Righteousness and hates Iniquity. Thats why some sinners God hates Ps 5:5

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.,

But there are some sinners whom He Loves which are sinners in themselves, yet He Loved them from Everlasting in Christ Jer 31:3

3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

While they were yet sinners Christ died for them Rom 5:8

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

These are sinners however that God had put into Christ, by which He was made unto them Righteousness 1 Cor 1:30

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

And so He Loved them in Christ their Righteousness, which again is that exclusive Love which is in Christ Jesus Rom 8:39 ! and this Love for them was even before they had a being ! And again Ps 146:8 tells us specifically whom the Lord Loves Ps 146:8

8 The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous:

And those Christ died for are made Righteous Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

These cannot be any God Loved, or whom Christ died for and made Righteous Rom 5:19

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This World God so Loved, is the World of the Sons/Children of God 1 Jn 3:1-2

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

God is The Father of this World, and that is why He so Loved it, and not all men have God as a Father, for Jesus told some jews once this Jn 8:41-42

41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Jesus knew these men had not God as their Father, but the World of Jn 3:16 does,

For we read of those the Father so loved, that they are the Sons/Children of God 1 Jn 3:1

That word bestowed is the greek word didōmi and its the very same word gave in Jn 3:16 and God gave/bestowed His Love on this World by giving them Christ, He gives His Life for this World Jn 6:51 and so this is the World of His Sons according to 1 Jn 3:1,

The word Sons in 1 Jn 3:1 is the word teknon and means:

I.offspring, children

iv.children of God: in the OT of "the people of Israel" as especially dear to God, in the NT, in Paul's writings, all who are led by the Spirit of God and thus closely related to God

And all men are not the Children of God, for Paul writes of some jews Rom 9:8

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

So they could not have been part of that World God So Loved in Jn 3:16, because if they were, then they were the Children of God and Loved by God !

We can only know that we were Children of God, if we are born again and begin to Love God in Christ, because we will love Him because He first Loved us 1 Jn 4:19

19 We love him, because he first loved us Jn 3:16.

The only way Jn 3:16 can refer to all men without exception, is that all men without exception will Love God because He first Loved them in Christ ! And we know all men will not Love God in Christ because Paul pronounces a curse on them who dont 1 Cor 16:22

22 If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

Notice, he doesnt say pray for them, but let them be cursed, because he knows they are not Gods Children that God Loved, but children of the devil whom He hates !

So for a World of People to be Loved by God, or the Beloved of God, it must be in Union with Christ Jesus, in Him its a Righteous World, we read in 1 Cor 1:30

God can only Love Individual sinners as He beholds them In Christ and clothed in His Righteousness, though in themselves they are filthy sinners,

So next time someone refers to Jn 3:16 as a proof text that God Loved all individuals without exception, know they are ignorant to this One thing, that if that was True, the whole world without exception is in Christ Jesus, which we know to be a lie, for all without exception are Gods Chosen Eph 1:4;Deut 7:6-7 and Jesus would not have told some that He never knew them as He does in Matt 7:23, being that if He Loved them they had to be In Union with Him according to Rom 8:39, lest Jesus is ignorant of who is in Union with Him!

    So in the redemptive sense, the World in Jn 3:16 is a collection of Jacobs, hence Jacob have I Loved, but esau I have hated, excluded from His particular Love !

    Gods Love is centered in a Chosen People set apart from all other people Deut 7:6-8


    6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.


    7 The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:


    8 But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

    The word set in Deut 7:7 wherein God set His Love upon the Chosen People, its the word chashaq and means:


    1. to love, be attached to, long for

      To be Joined together, to be attached to with very great Love !

      Its the same Great Love written of here Eph 2:4

      4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

      This is an exclusive Love for Gods Chosen, Joined with Christ !

Yes, The World of Jacobs that God Loved and which Christ gave His Life for John 3:16 are His Chosen People in Christ Gal. 3:16, the Election of Grace 2 Tim. 1:9 from all nations of the world Rev. 5:9 which were ordained to Eternal Life Acts 13:48.

But, the world of Esaus, the seed of the devil Mat. 13:38-39, Christ did not die for, and the world He does not pray for John 17:9, and neither should His Elect children.
