I take it "required to participate in civic duty" equals "required to vote".
Explain how taking away a citizen's right to NOT vote is somehow better for society as a whole.
If the only people running for office are corrupt bureaucrats who will only worsen the condition of the country, does it not become "civic duty" to ABSTAIN from taking part?
One like this one when it first started, using puritan jurisprudence. I even think i mght enjoy being amish if they werent so dead set against electricity and cars and stuff like that.

The same thing stopping the you's and me's from attaining any kind of power, and keeping the same group of families which have always ruled this country ruling it.
Money they were born with, which they never had to work for, and which keeps rolling in because they invest it in deposit expansion instead of the actual economy.
However, I'd not care to be a Spartan female.
