The TheologyOnline.com TOPIC OF THE DAY for January 3rd, 2012 09:30 AM
toldailytopic: What does it take to survive on TOL, and can you predict those who will?
There is no convincing you. You're happy to argue in circles and rely on false assertions and twisted logic to back yourself. If there's something wrong with you where you can't see what you're doing then I'm sorry for you. If not - grow up. You're being dishonest, frustrating and irrational.
I was going to change my username to Metta World Peace, but Ron Artest beat me to it. How about gobsofloving12345? Will that fly, Striper?
We like you just the way you are.
WHEW! Now I don't have to come up with a picture for gobsofloving12345.
My Top Twenty for Surviving on TOL, in no particular order:
10. Engendering strife is not Biblical, Phil. 1:15; 2:3; 2 Tim. 2:22-26; James 3:14, 16
11. Offer correction Biblically, per Galatians 6:1; 1 Peter 3:15-16
17. Confrontation is not a bad thing (but see #10 and 11 above), Ezekiel 33:6; 2 John 1:7-8
#7 on AMR's list is one that a lot of folks need to do. If I'm entrenched on a point, what's the purpose in hammering me relentlessly? If someone else has dug in, it serves no purpose for me to stay after them.
Move on. Let 'em waller...
Just sayin'...
Nick,You are still here.
You are still here, and you are not Biblical. You are in fact, Mr Religion.
As long as it isn't your definition of strife I suppose.
(((bump)))
HELLO survivors!
You have survived!"At first I was afraid, I was petrified..."
:rotfl:
It's all in the choice of username and avatar.
There are a few guidelines:
Anyone with a number in their name is probably a whacko.
Four letters and three digits = banned in record time.
Guys with chicks in their avatars - weird.
Name too long - flames out.
Name too short - never gets noticed.
Animal names and avatars are to be avoided.
Those using God's names tend to be fairly ephemeral as do those who use their own name or occupation.
Changing username once is a good indicator of a stable user.
As always - beware the exceptions!
To be safe, stick with 5-6 letters, one word, no numbers, add a letter after a while, nothing declaring a religious affiliation, personal details or employment.
(Except that animal avatar thing, That might sink you someday. )
Time will tell.
Shhhhhh.Gotta have my kitty-sphinx (or kitty bigfoot).
Wait...you had a lion.
???
Hanging on by a thread, huh?I have a number in my name , i must be a wacko.
