Oregon takes couple's kids away because of IQ test

If there was neglect or abuse going on they'd be charged with it. But they aren't being charged with anything. So what's their crime? Low IQ?

Again, reading between the lines here (and fighting the ipad) but the state seems to feel a strong potential for neglect exists

Wish i could dive into this deeper - i studied a lot of this this past semester in courses similar to those the bananahead was taking

I didn't know potential neglect was a thing.

Why not have a case worker do periodic home visits to check on them? That happens even in cases of actual neglect, yet these parents are losing their children because the state has determined they might neglect their kids in the future?

You can't charge people with future crimes.
Haven't they seen Minority Report?

Would you agree that there is a point at which diminished IQ would require intervention?

I believe the article mentioned 50

To be consistent, will Oregon start administering IQ tests to new mothers and fathers in the hospital, to make sure they're smart enough to take their kids home?

Will teachers and doctors in Oregon become state mandated reporters, required to call CPS about parents they suspect of having low IQ's?

Hard cases often make bad law. But note the article states the Mom did not know she was pregnant--though her pain etc was a result of a chronic kidney condition. Means at the least she got no prenatal care.
it's a lousy situation all around. Sounds like the grandfather simply does not like his daughter and perhaps wants to punish her. It is probably a case that calls for consistent intervention by a case worker. But at what point then would the state be considered as going too far.

They already went too far.

They should have started with periodic home visits - like they do for foster kids.

The question that progressives don't answer is... what are they progressing toward?

Change for its own sake is irrational.
Progressing toward pure socialism, total loss of sovereignty to world bodies, destroying every last vestige of the values of western civilization, and the genocide of white Christian heterosexuals. Radical feminists will be spared this genocide. Whites who have been instrumental in implementing this agenda will also be spared. I assure you, that once they have reached their utopia, all whites will be subject to intense interrogation and all records will be searched to see if they towed the progressive line all of their lives.

That sounds awfully well planned and organized. Who's leading this effort? And do the average street-level progressives know this is the plan?

Many street level progressives would rethink progressivism if this was revealed to them. Only a percentage of them truly hate Western civilization and it's adherents enough to follow through to genocide.

This plan is the only thing that makes sense when you add up everything they have vociferously fought for since the civil rights era.

Think of everything they have done since the Korean war, and see if the plan I described above would be the motivation for all of it.
