Too bad that professing Christians here do not believe all that the prophets have spoken.
It's the opposite blindness from the Jews in the gospel narratives.
The Jews, including Christ's disciples, failed to see and understand that Christ must suffer, die and resurrect according to prophecy.
Professing Christians today fail to see that that there is more prophetic
fulfillment to take place after the DBR as well as after Christ's ascension.
Fulfilled:
Act 3:18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
Not fulfilled....yet:
Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Act 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
Act 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

That scripture is a reading OF AN OLD TESTAMENT SCRIPTURE!!! Don't you understand what that means?
That means the apostle was quoting an old testament scripture about what was happening NOW, and then; the now times!!!
The Lord Jesus was referring to all things concerning His death, burial and resurrection, and obviously not everything the prophets said concerning the future following, or else the Scriptures contradict themselves and Peter, speaking by the Holy Spirit, was wrong.
And one would have to say that he angel Gabriel was also wrong in:
Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luk 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Is Christ sitting on David's throne?
Is He presently ruling over the house of Israel in a kingdom which will never end?
Was the Holy Spirit also mistaken as He spoke by Zacharia?
Luk 1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
Luk 1:70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
Luk 1:71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
Was Israel saved from her enemies by their promised Messiah at that time?
The Lord Jesus called those who did not believe all that the prophets said concerning Him, 'Fools'.

Jesus says all things are restored, see Matthew 17:11-12; and Mark 9:12. David’s fallen tent is restored see Acts 15:16.
Did you read that? ALL THINGS ARE RESTORED.
You are giving power to earthly things over the Spiritual things. You are as the Jews were who missed their Messiah. They were looking for an earthly king! Jesus is about what is Spiritual.
So...the Lord Jesus has already returned from heaven and has restored all things which the prophets foretold since the beginning of the world.

The apostle was QUOTING the OLD TESTAMENT, and the time of refreshment was NOW...which was THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They were right to be looking for an earthly King because that's what the prophets said.

Read the scripture again, and again, and again.
You are not giving it enough care, for with the measure you use it will be measured to you.
The apostle was telling the JEWS WHAT WAS SAID IN THE OLD TESTAMENT. The apostle was letting them know that the time NOW (their time) was being fulfilled.
No, Peter said, "Israel, if you will repent, then GOD will send Jesus, whom the heavens must receive until the times of restoration of all things spoken by the prophets."
That's future.
So.....you don't believe that the Lord Jesus will return as He said He would?
But Peter is saying the prophecy in Joel was in the process of being fulfilled in Acts 2. But this is occurring after the death, burial, resurrection and ascension, yet you say that the Lord Jesus fulfilled it all before Acts 2 and that there was nothing else to be fulfilled.
You can't have it both ways.

Again, the apostle was quoting scripture from the old testament.
JOHN THE BAPTIZER was the one who prepared the way for Jesus.
The Jews had to repent for Jesus to come to them
The Jews AND ANYONE WHO REPENTS prepares their HEART FOR JESUS TO SAVE THEM AND LIVE IN THEM.
