“Thou hast formed us for Thyself,
and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee.”
~ St. Augustine ~

Since our days are determined, the number of our months is with You; You have appointed our limits, so that we cannot pass. Job 14:5

He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; so He guides them to their desired haven. Psalm 107:29-30

In Remembrance and Memorial is a thread for TOL forum members desiring to remember and make remembrance or a memory of a family member or friend who have passed from this life.

His body sheltered resting in the earth, his soul safe in the arms of Jesus,
safe on His gentle breast, there o’rshaded, sweetly his soul shall rest - Amen!

A Song of Living

Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.
I have sent up my gladness on wings, to be lost in the blue of the sky.
I have run and leaped with the rain, I have taken the wind to my breast.
My cheek like a drowsy child to the face of the earth I have pressed.
Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.
I have kissed young love on the lips, I have heard his song to the end.
I have struck my hand like a seal in the loyal hand of a friend.
I have known the peace of heaven, the comfort of work well done.
I have longed for death in the darkness and risen alive out of hell.
Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.
I give a share of my soul to the world where my course is run.
I know that another shall finish the task I must leave undone.
I know that no flower, nor flint was in vain on the path I trod.
As one looks on a face through a window, through life I have looked on God.
Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.
Amelia Josephine Burr
I have written this through tears of loss yet with gladness for God's grace.
Thanks Psalmist

I don't have words, Psalmist, other than: Thank you.

My beautiful wife and mother of our children, you are missed and I love you. I weep for you every day even now. Your kindness, your love of the Lord, your beauty, and your careful understanding of this life.

I miss you.

I love you.

We will never forget you.

As I approach that threshhold
The light grows brighter
Beckons, bids me on.
When I cross over
Memories and love live on.
My life, a precious gift, reflected.

I lost my grandmother when I was a teenager. She was the most important person to me up to that point and still remains one of the first people I think of as soon as I wake up in the morning. My mother worked long hours to keep us up, so my grandmother practically raised us, we were her neighbors.

Most of the time, it was just my sister and I except when grandmother was home and if she was home we were there. She had 11 kids and buried more of them than any parent should even have to have nightmares about but she had a heart of gold. My mind isn't one that is good with remembering dates/ages or I'd make a nice virtual tombstone for her, but her, herself never leaves me.

I like that.

Here are three of my favorites...

In The Glow Of Early Morning

In the glow of early morning,
In the solemn hush of night;
Oft methinks I hear His footsteps,
Stealing down the path of time;
Long I’ve waited, blest Redeemer,
For that upward call of Thine.

Life

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay…
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.

For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.

~:~

Until that Day

I know not when I go, nor where,
From this familiar scene;
But Christ is here and He is there
And all the way between;
And, when I pass from all I know
To that dim, vast unknown,
Though late I stay, or soon I go,
I shall not go alone.
