Well, the scriptures are completely in line with my position.

What's a believer to do?

What did Jesus do when He came upon a woman about to be stoned to death for adultery?

Maybe you'd rather cast the stone. I'm inclined toward an imitation of Christ.

Just saying.

So, slightly to the left and more pronouncedly Libertarian than I would have thought.

Believe me, it is not a good test, lacks the right questions and forces conclusions unfounded.

Like many that vote democrat, I think you are confused.

As traditional conservatives go in America, which is not clearly defined, I prefer to just be right wing.

For example, many believe in the bizarre concept of "state rights". They have delegated authority, not rights.

I would call bailouts, an underused stimulus package and severe healthcare reform in midst of war time debt detrimental big government spending. Programs that don't cause debt because they are paid for and benefit citizens aren't the same thing.

It's strange the way conservatives who call for "limited government" always seem to want unlimited power for the government to interfere in our private lives. Some limited governemnt !
Take abortion. Conservatives who oppose abortion and would like to see it outlawed don't realize that enforcing the law would cost billions of dollars and be an egregious violation of our privacy.
It will be awfully difficult to find those who perform illegal abortions and prosecute them. As well as to keep women from seeking and obtaining them.
And impossible to stop the poorest women from trying to abort themselves. Will the government appoint a huge force of anti-abortion agents to scour every corner of America 24/7 to make sure that no abortions are taking place? Will it put up blockades at every border and airport and examine every woman of childbearing age for pregnancy just in case she might be trying to go abroad for an abortion?
And if contraceptives become illegal how will we stop the inevitable black market in illegal contraceptives? Remember prohibition? How successful and effective was that?
And what about the rights of homosexuals? Will we put up surveillance cameras everywhere and arrest, prosecute, imprison and possibly execute those caught in the act?
Limited government my foot !!!!
As to conservatives who are opposed to pornography, wghat happens if all men's magazines become illegal, etc. Will we have the government go into evewry one's home to confiscate these things,as well as pornographic films etc?

Nonsense, I am for a limited federal government!

:thumb: With this I agree. Many do want it both ways. Or, they at least fail to see their own inconsistency.

It is the (American) government's job to protect personal liberty. If we are not willing to protect the liberty of the youngest and most vulnerable, then how can we say we support liberty at all?

Again, I agree.

That website rated my political compass as

Economic Left/Right: -2.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.87

Makes sense, pretty accurate I'd say.

Dear boy,

Dear boy,

Odd, isn't it? I hit:

Economic Left/Right: -3.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.77

...which basically makes me an economic loony. Whatever, let God's kingdom come, and then see which way I voted!!

God knows His own! It's His vote that counts!
Blessings, bybee

I've takem that test many times before. Some of the questions are wacky.

Here is my result. (I'm in the blue) :)

Economic Left/Right: 4.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.97

The wording on most of the questions there is horrible, I dont give it much credit. I also dont believe George Bush is more conservative than me. lol

Economic Left/Right: 3.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.21

Sure, but I might have to make you wait a day or two.

I'm not sure, but I think you and I are the only two who oppose direct elections on senators.

So if I may I wouldn't mind explaining it. Albeit it might be a tad different than how you feel about it.

We also agree on this issue and further, I do understand the original intent of state appointed senate and why it changed.

We also agree on sates rights; that would be on page 1.

If it's the job of the government to protect liberty, and if the unborn are to be "protected",how is the government going to do that?
As I just pointed out, there's simply no way to keep all pregnant women under observation and stop them from having abortions.
If there were more government subsidies for poor pregnant women, married or single,to provide decent care for their children, born or unborn, there would be far fewer abortions in America.
But conservatives don't want the government to do that, because this would be"socialism". They want it both ways.
Just look at the prosperous countries of Europe, such as German, the Netherlands,Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Scandinavia.
These countries have the world's LOWEST abortion rates, and I believe the Netherlands has the distinction of having the world's lowest.
Why? Because there is much less poverty here, and a secure safety net for people. The US will never be able to lower the abortion rate until it become more like these European countries. But conservatives are horrified at this prospect.

Here is one interpretation, based on using a method for making the questions unbiased.

Economic Left/Right: 5.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.31

This would be the results if I went solely with what the words say.

Economic Left/Right: -0.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.31

Now let's look at how the test would come out with using the actual meaning implied in the question.
Economic Left/Right: 1.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.85

Now which one describes me as you know me?
